Food for thought

After the fun and excitement of the Olympics we felt it was time to get back to what we know best at PPR and that of course is food, glorious food!

This week the topic of delicious food has been hot on everybody’s lips. On Monday Liz, who is working with us on a project for Direct from Dorset brought in a homemade and home grown soup with courgettes, potatoes, shallots and Dorset Blue Vinny cheese made with a simple stock and a dash of coriander and cumin – a very welcome guest indeed!

On Tuesday Katie made a mouth watering sandwich for supper with turkey breast, pea shoots and Fussels Mint Mayonnaise – delicious as you can see from the photo – for more pictures click here.

On Wednesday I got in on the action by preparing a warm salad with spinach, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, halloumi and bacon – well I may not have prepared it myself but I ate it and washed up afterwards!

On Thursday Amy whipped up a mushroom risotto with Dorset Down Mushrooms fresh from the farmers’ market, and Roberta enjoyed her third birthday meal out this week!

Finally I asked Nickie what she planned to do for supper this evening – and as one of our true foodies, I was shocked to hear it’s pizza and nachos with lots of cheese and guacamole in front of the new Mission Impossible film – but then hey, what are Fridays for!
