The Royal seal of approval…

Here at PPR – we all know that Denhay bacon is fit for a king (well at least the heir to the throne!) but finally it has been confirmed. Denhay has been granted a Royal Warrant, to HRH The Prince of Wales – the first time that His Royal Highness has granted a Royal Warrant to bacon curers.

Even Chris Evans thought it was a great story – Moira Stewart used the headline in her daily competition with Jonny Saunders (to see who picks the best of the day’s news) and Chris decided that the Denhay story was the best, so it won her a well earned point!

Not quite a Royal seal of approval but still a pretty big vindication – Kate Cater from the Guardian made Dorset Cereals’ Marmalade Granola her ‘Buy of the Day’ – Dorset Cereals are in fact giving away 288 boxes of the yummy stuff – so if you fancy trying it for yourself just click here.

The competition to find the Deli of the Year 2011 – the delicatessen with more ‘deli attitude’ than any other – is being run for a second year by Olives Et Al. If you think you know where the best deli in the country is, don’t miss your chance to vote.  Last year OEA received thousands of entries and the winners had to go through a rigorous judging process to win – in fact Joanne was one of the judges – and I can confirm that she is very hard to please when it comes to good food!
