Country gardens and UFOs!

Yesterday Briony and I went along to Jasper Conran’s country residence, Ven House in Milborne Port and we got a bit more than we bargained for!  We were there to see Sue Fudge and the guys from Mad River sampling some lovely Fudges goodies at a Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) Garden Party.

All the Fudges biscuits and wafers went down a storm and I managed to grab a bit of time to take some snaps of Fudges coveted bicnic bag – as you can see in the top right of the photo above, I caught something quite unexpected as well!

Joanne spent most of Wednesday this week visiting gardens across Dorset – not just any old patches of grass and flower beds – but gardens where rabbits skip about in the sunshine, hundreds of birds drop in for breakfast and every kind of insect lives happily in perfect wildlife habitats!  We can’t announce any winners yet but we are all working to organise the Dorset Wildlife Friendly Gardening Awards ceremony on July 15th at Castle Gardens in Sherborne – then the best wildlife gardens in Dorset will be announced!
