Gary Rhodes cooks dinner…………

Yesterday Joanne and I went to Rhodes South in Christchurch to enjoy a very special dinner prepared by Gary Rhodes and the new Head Chef, Mike Jennings. In the morning we organised press interviews with Gary and Mike, and then in the evening we had an eight course dinner; each course was followed by a specially selected glass of Champagne. The only problem was that I had to drive back so it was strictly orange juice for me!

Bob Weadon, who worked on the original Dartmouth to Kingswear Higher Ferry over 50 years ago, and was recently an adviser on the construction of the new Higher Ferry which arrived only last summer, retired last week. Bob is an integral part of the Dartmouth ship (and ferry!) building community. He was interviewed by local and regional press about his life and times in Dartmouth and BBC Spotlight came to film his final day in the industry after 56 years, for the 6.00 pm news.

We’ve all been nibbling on some of Olives Et Al’s Kiln Roasted Harissa Almonds in the office and we think they’re delicious, but we’re not the only ones.  To see what thought click here.
