Pancakes, camera, action!

This week we received the ITV Westcountry coverage of The Three Wishes’ Pancake Race which I have now uploaded onto youtube. Vanessa Cuddeford, presenter of the six o’clock news joined in one of the heats and even showed a unique pans-eye-view of the coverage! None of this could detract from the real star of the show however, who can be seen in her official Pancake Race bright yellow T-shirt, starting each heat!  Click here to see Sherborne’s answer to John Anderson, 3…2….1… go!

Abbie has been helping to celebrate 50 outstanding years in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Huw Irranca-Davies, Minister for the Marine and Natural Environment visited the South Devon (AONB) to mark the anniversary of the area’s designation as a protected landscape. Personally I feel the area is as beautiful now as it was when I first clapped eyes on it, over 50 years ago! (Well that’s what you’re supposed to say on anniversaries I’ve been told!)

Nickie gained a real insight into boys and brewing when she spent the evening with beer journalists Pete Brown and Tim Hampson on a brewery tour at Hall & Woodhouse with Head Brewer Toby Heasman, and Mark Woodhouse. This was followed by a pub crawl in an eight-seater mini bus! The journalists were up with Toby at 6.00 am the next day, to witness first hand the ‘mashing in’ at the brewery and Nickie joined them at 8.00 am for a full English to round off the experience!
